Tan Lines

Posted by: admin | Comments (0)
Ross Bainbridge asked:

Tan lines are stripes formed on the body mainly due to sun tanning. Tanning is a kind of process done by many people to improve their physical beauty and sexual attractiveness. During the tanning process, people wear different kinds of clothing. The portion of the body that is not exposed to sunlight will be a lighter shade than the tanned portion. This is often referred to as tan lines. Certain people consider tan lines fashionable as it implies that tanning is done naturally on a tropical beach. Some people find tan lines sexually attractive.

A perfect tan is the one with minimum tan lines. One way to minimize the tan lines is to adjust the straps of the bikini periodically. Another means is by wearing a swimsuit made of highly developed and technologically advanced fabric that offers the opportunity to get rid of tan lines altogether. The advantage of these types of swimsuits is that it allows the sun’s rays to pass through the fabric. It also prevents the ultraviolet rays (both UVA/UVB rays) from striking the areas that are not accustomed to tanning. Nowadays, these suits are available in a wide variety of colors and cuts and are more affordable than when they first were on the market.

Yet another method to avoid tan lines is sunless tanning. Self-tanning has many advantages over the traditional suntan. In the case of self-tanning, the person himself can decide how much dark he/she should be, rather than leaving it up to chance.

For those seeking no tan lines, endless varieties of strapless sandals, clothes, towels, indoor tanning lotions, and other related products are readily available, and most of these products are available online.

No Tan Lines

Ross Bainbridge asked:

Exposed body parts turn browner in color than the rest of the skin when sunrays fall on it. This is called a tan. Though tanning is trendy, the downside can be serious. Many people are sensitive to the sun’s ultraviolet rays and can be exposed to sunburn in the process of tanning. This is extremely harmful, as well as painful. Others witness an outburst of itchy rashes. In the long run, excessive natural tanning quickens ageing of skin. This causes the development of wrinkles, skin damage and increases risks of skin cancer.

Parts of the hands, neck, legs that are continually exposed become tanned, whereas remaining covered parts of the body have a lighter color. A line demarcates the difference, and the only way to have no tan lines is to tan in the nude. This exposes every part of the body to prevent uneven tanning.

When indulging in nude tanning it is vital that people are aware about skin sensitivity to solar exposure. In order to attain no tan lines rather than causing over exposure or reddening, it is important to apply adequate amounts of appropriate sun protection factor lotion. SPF ranges from a count of 2 to 45 and higher levels ensure that nude bathers can stay longer in the sun to guarantee a complete tan.

It is important to realize that when people opt for a no tan lines tan, there are some parts of the body that may have never been exposed to the sun. Prior to exposing oneself to the sun, it is important to apply SPF lotion at least half an hour in advance. This ensures complete absorption and prevents lotion from wearing off too quickly. When selecting an appropriate lotion it is important to consult an expert. This is because different people have varying tolerance to UVA and UVB. Nude bathers need to be cautious when sun bathing at higher altitudes and/or near reflective surfaces. This refers to beaches and water bodies. Such areas tend to amplify the intensity of exposure and SPF calculations should be revised.

I have very pale skin, and I’d like to be a little tan for the spring and summer and shorts-skirts-bikini weather.

How safe are tanning beds and natural tanning, and what should you do to make it any safer?

And what is a good time to spend tanning to just get a light natural tan (in beds and outside)?

Thank you!

How to Tan Without Burning

Posted by: admin | Comments (0)
Jie Miao asked:

Tanned skin looks sexy, especially when donned by the beach. Such a complexion is often ogled at, given the edgy impressions it exudes. The problem is, baking beneath the sun can dry the skin and causes sunburn to appear, ruining your tan. Good thing there are means to protect your skin from getting burned. Just apply sunscreen, a tanning lotion, or other tan-friendly solutions before sunbathing.

Use Sunscreen with Low SPF

Applying sunscreen helps you ward off the harmful UV rays from the sun. However, if you use one that offers too much protection, tanning will practically take forever. Purchase sunblock that has about 10 SPF and a tanning lotion. The solutions give you a fair duration for securing a tan while avoiding sunburn. The ideal time is about 10 – 15 minutes, but you can extend a little longer as long as your skin doesn’t hurt. Distribute sunscreen and the tanning lotion equally on your arms, legs, face, and torso, for a nice even tan.

Apply Exfoliant Days Before Sunbathing

Exfoliant is formulated to rid your skin off dead cells, which causes blotches and discolorations. Apply the substance a couple of days before heading to the beach. Make sure you have your entire body covered, as a single discolored spot looks unsightly. Apply the solution twice daily, preferably one in the morning and another before going to bed. Once you hit the beach, you will notice that getting an even tan is not too hard.

Bring a Timer when Tanning

Time is of the essence when getting a tan. For one, watching the time is necessary to avoid staying for too long beneath the sun or on the tanning bed. The duration in which each side of your torso is exposed to the sun is also important for getting an even bronze complexion. For these purposes, you should always bring a timer or a stopwatch, so you can track the time for every tanning-related endeavor.

Hiiiii asked:

I want to start going tanning at a tanning bed a month or so before I go on vacation, what should the time intervals be? Should I wear sun screen or tanning oil/lotion? Stand up one or the bed? I really want to avoid getting a burn. Any tips. This would also be my first time going tanning in a tanning place..
Also, what should I expect the first time? Is there going to be any change in my skin color?
Also, don’t recommend spray tans.

I want to look really pale when I go to the Eclipse movie showing (If I am going). How can I look like a Twilight Vampire without a spray tan and it can wash out in the shower? I want it to not smudge and to look real. How can I do it without spending a lot too?
